the Collegiates

Shawnee, 1960

The Collegiates were a vocal group. According to a post on Youtube, they were from Shawnee, about 15 miles east of Logan, about 30 miles north of Athens. Two of the group members were Don Wohrle and Walt Morgan. A few years before the band, Don was listed as a performer, vocal and guitar, in a 1956 talent show. The show was held as part of the Hocking County fair.

The group recorded a 45 for R.D. Globe. Both sides are in the "teener" style..if the titles didn't give enough clues.

After that we were not able to find out much more about the two guys or the rest of the group.
