Don James is a mystery. He shows up in one ad from January 1958, as a featured singer for Roosevelt Lee. That would suggest he was from Cincinnati. 

He recorded one 45 on Esta, doing remakes of recent hits. The record may have been similar to the Big 4 Hits that Rite was issuing, quick cash ins.

He is not the famous football coach from Massilon of the same name.
